The September 7 celebrations reflected the polarization that divides the country. The central message from Bolsonaro’s allies was the defense of amnesty for those involved in the January 8, 2023, attacks. The Supreme Federal Court’s (STF) First Panel resumes trial proceedings against former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and seven others accused of attempting a coup in 2022. The trial runs from Tuesday, September 9, through Friday, September 12. On Tuesday, September 9, Senator Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM), rapporteur of the supplementary bill that creates the Managing Committee for the Goods and Services Tax (PLP No. 108/22), will release his report.
