Supreme Federal Court (STF) President Justice Edson Fachin decided to postpone the Court’s plenary discussion of the fake news controversy involving Our Lady of Aparecida. The issue could have been heard today, but Fachin considered it more prudent to avoid taking up the matter just days before the election. Yesterday, new revelations involving President Lula’s son once again raised concerns within the presidential palace. According to O Globo, lobbyist Roberta Luchsinger arranged a trip to Scandinavia for the family of Fábio Luís da Silva, known as “Lulinha”, to see the Northern Lights in January 2025. Meanwhile, the government continues to roll out measures that could have electoral implications. On Tuesday (Sep. 29), the federal government announced a package of initiatives aimed at restructuring debts owed by individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs), rural producers, individuals, employers, and former research grant recipients.
