Finance Minister Dario Durigan confirmed yesterday that the current edition of Desenrola Brasil, the federal program that allows consumers to renegotiate bank debts, will be extended until August 31, the expiration date of the provisional measure (MP) that created the initiative. Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes has given former President Jair Bolsonaro's legal team 48 hours to clarify whether Bolsonaro authorized the use of his image and voice in an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated video shown during the Liberal Party (PL) national convention last Saturday to launch Senator Flávio Bolsonaro's presidential campaign. The U.S. government announced on Tuesday (July 28) that it has extended for another year the national emergency declared with respect to Brazil, keeping in force the executive order that designates the country as an "unusual and extraordinary" threat to U.S. national security, foreign policy, and the economy.
