Politico.eu seen in Hungarian politics once again

This morning, Politico.eu, which excels as an efficient miner of inside information in Brussels, wrote on a currently considered five-point plan to bring Ukraine into the EU by 2027, referring to their conversations with ten officials and diplomats within the EU. This plan would greatly affect Hungary, as in addition to working out a so far nonexistent scheme for some kind of partial membership, and also to preparing Ukraine for that position at an accelerated rate, it focuses on the ways how a potential veto from Hungary, as EU enlargement requires a unanimous vote of all member sates, could be avoided.The Hungary-specific steps would be first to wait and hope for PM Orbán's Fidesz government to be defeated at the upcoming election, or if Mr. Orbán is reelected, then playing out the 'Trump card', i.e. trying to get President Trump to convince Mr. Orbán that he should refrain from vetoing Ukrainian membership, or if those attempts also fail, then suspend Hungary's voting right in the EU, possibly using the ongoing Article 7 procedure, which formally opens the way for such a measure.At the moment, all of the EU, the US government and Ukraine seem to believe that achieving peace with Russia is urgent (well, Russia, and the government of Hungary, also believe that, but in a very different way), and Ukraine's accelerated integration into the EU forms an important part of the plan (once again, not for Russia, and not for Hungary.
