After meeting with President Lula (PT) on Wednesday (June 24), Senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA) announced that he will step down as the government's leader in the Senate. Wagner's departure had been expected and comes as no surprise. Former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) posted a video statement on social media claiming that she had been mistreated and humiliated by Flávio Bolsonaro, whom former President Jair Bolsonaro has selected as his preferred presidential candidate for the October elections. Today marks the end of the 90-day period of former President Jair Bolsonaro's house arrest. Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes is expected to decide whether Bolsonaro will be returned to prison or allowed to remain under house arrest.
