Today, a meeting of the Petrobras Board of Directors is scheduled to decide on the situation of Unigel, a company that leased two fertilizer plants (Fafens) from the state-owned enterprise in 2019—one in Sergipe and another in Bahia—but ceased production in 2023. Next week, after the long holiday, Brasília is set to resume activities with a packed agenda. One key issue is the Amnesty Bill. The opposition has gathered enough signatures to bring the urgent status request for the bill to a floor vote in the Lower House—262 in total. Next week, the Special Committee that will analyze the income tax bill is expected to be installed. The Committee’s chair, Deputy Rubens Junior (PT-MA), anticipates that the vote in the Lower House will be completed by August.
