The PP and União Brasil, which make up the União Progressista federation and remained neutral in the first round, announced yesterday (Oct. 6) their support for Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) in the runoff of the presidential election, as we had anticipated. The endorsements Flávio Bolsonaro has received so far amount to a significant show of strength. The Senate floor will hold today the second discussion session on the proposed constitutional amendment that would end the six-day workweek followed by one day off, known as the 6x1 schedule. The government is engaged in an extensive political effort to bring the proposal to a vote before the second round. Senator Rogério Marinho, Flávio’s campaign coordinator, said the Senate would not remain silent in the face of possible impeachable offenses committed by Supreme Court justices. According to Marinho, the Senate is currently failing to fulfill this role.
